New BSAS Ambassador at Nottingham University
BSAS extends a very warm welcome to Rebecca Hands who has been successfully chosen as the BSAS Ambassador for Nottingham University.
Rebecca is starting her second Undergraduate Degree early next year at the University of Nottingham where she will study Veterinary Medicine. With a Bioveterinary Science degree already under her belt, we are delighted to have engaged Rebecca's help for this important role as she charters her way towards becoming a Veterinary Surgeon.
"I am fascinated by the way animals function and repair. I have an interest in improving the welfare of livestock, companion, zoo and exotic animals and am devoted to providing outstanding animal care" says Rebecca.
"I also wish to contribute to the scientific community of Animal Scientists and Veterinary Surgeons, to continue improving the skills, knowledge and practices within Veterinary Medicine, ensuring that animals are housed in the best environment and ensure their needs are provided" continues Rebecca.
"I am pleased to be a BSAS Ambassador because I want to be able to help shape animal science for current professionals and for the next generation. Within this, I want to ensure current undergraduates are provided with numerous opportunities for them to develop into their professional career. I would also love to enhance my skill set, including networking. Having attended my first conference earlier this month to present my dissertation, I am keen to continue to be able to learn and develop my knowledge about animal science as a student and throughout my professional career" Rebecca concludes.
We look forward to working with Rebecca over the next few years. If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador for your place of work, university or college, please email communications@bsas.org.uk
