Global Delegate feature – Shalom Samson
26 Apr 2021
Shalom Samson, recently attended the BSAS 2021 virtual conference after winning the KTN and BSAS ticket competition, where post, undergrads, and early careers, were asked to send in a short 30-60 second video, explaining why attendance of the conference is a perfect way to help students and those in their early careers adapt to the new normal.
Shalom is currently studying at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi Nigeria and his interests lie in monogastric nutrition and management. For him attending such a global conference is a dream for a young animal scientist, and by attending the BSAS 2021 conference, not only does he feel more established on his journey towards his chosen career path, but he feels he’s gained an improved understanding of the positive impact that animal scientists can have on the environment.
Shalom thought the conference was well organised and that there was exceptional attention to detail and the conference app also helped to enhance the delegate experience. While he thoroughly immersed himself in the conference session by attending as many sessions as possible, for him the standout events were the Hammond Lecture and the ‘One World – One Animal Science’ session.
‘I want to thank BSAS and KTN for the opportunity to be part of this historic conference, I have learned a lot over the last four days, and it has been the best time of my life. Once again thank you all.’
