BSAS Representative - animal Management Board

15 Sep 2020

We are looking for a BSAS Member for this voluntary position, who is an active researcher with experience of publishing in high quality academic journals or perhaps an R&D director of a company working in the field of animal science application who publish their research in journals, to be a BSAS representative on the animal Management Board.

animal, a monthly international journal of animal bioscience, publishing 250 peer-reviewed articles a year, is published in collaboration with the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS), the European Federation for Animal Science (EAAP) and the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE) has entered into a new publishing agreement with Elsevier beginning 1st January, 2021. As part of this agreement, animal will move to Gold Open Access (OA), with all future published articles being shared worldwide.

The long-term aim is to develop high quality scientific publications led by the flagship journal animal. The business of scientific publishing is highly competitive and the landscape is continually changing. Therefore, the animal Consortium’s business priority, delivered via the animal Management Board, is to strengthen its leadership position in high-quality science whilst maintaining a balanced financial position.

As animal goes through the process of change, the representative must be prepared to and have the time to commit, not only attending management board meetings but to being actively involved in working groups, with our partners at INRAE and EAAP.

This is an exciting time to be involved with the journal and an opportunity to help develop animal and consortium activities, supporting BSAS and animal science.]
