COVID

What is the situation with regards to COVID-19?

We’re really looking forward to welcoming you to BSAS 2022 on the 12th – 14th April, this will be our first face to face event in over two years.

Although legal restrictions in the UK have now ended, we understand that everyone has different needs and concerns, and that some will still be following the guidelines of wearing masks and social distancing. So, we have therefore decided to keep measures in place in line with the government regulations that were active prior to the introduction of the ‘Living with COVID Plan.’

Your safety and comfort is our main concern, and we want you to feel at ease at BSAS 2022, and to be able to concentrate on making connections and joining in the debate on the latest hot topics affecting the world of animal science now and in the future

If you are planning on attending BSAS 2022, please take a moment to read through our coronavirus (COVID-19) health and safety guidelines below:

On-site safety and best practice

To support COVID-19 health and safety best practice, the venue will be equipped with hand sanitiser stations at regular intervals, we strongly recommend that you use these frequently.

While masks are not mandatory, we do encourage using good judgement and respect your fellow attendees. We suggest that you wear a mask while moving around the venue and while sitting in any of the conference rooms for any length of time, for everybody’s wellbeing and peace of mind. If you feel unwell prior to or on the day of the conference, and experience COVID-19 symptoms, please do not come to the venue.

Regular cleaning and disinfection

Throughout the event, we will have enhanced cleaning and disinfection in progress with more staff on hand to sanitise surfaces.

Traffic light system

On arrival, you will be able to select a coloured sticker for your badge (either red, yellow, or green) which indicates your level of comfort with space and social distancing. This traffic light  system will be supported with signage around the conference venue reminding attendees to respect others’ comfort levels.

RED

2-metre social distancing preferred, no physical contact

YELLOW

Happy to be within groups and have conversations but prefer no physical contact

GREEN

Comfortable with physical contact, for example handshakes etc

Cancellation Policy

In the event that you cannot attend due to testing positive for COVID-19, you must provide us with proof of a positive test. We’ll then defer your ticket to the next available conference at no extra cost.

This page has been reviewed on March 7th and is correct as of publishing. We will endeavour to make regular edits to our COVID-19 policy in line with UK government guidelines.
