BSAS OPERATIONAL TEAM
Led by CEO Maggie Mitchell, The British Society of Animal Science performs a valuable and valued role in the promotion and understanding of animal science and its global benefits.
Supporting BSAS in the management and implementation of activities is the operational team.This function is undertaken by a specialist association management company, CJAM.
Maggie joined the Society as CEO in 2019. Working alongside the Trustees, Maggie looks to develop the future strategy of BSAS, contributing to the future vibrancy and success of the organisation. With a family history in farming Maggie has spent considerable time working within the animal and food environments with previous roles in meat, poultry and fish sectors, she has experience in developing new strategies to sustainably grow organisations.
Digital Marketing expert Emma Burley is the PR and Marketing Manager managing and implementing membership campaigns, event branding and marketing assets. Emma coordinates press outreach, social media management, member communications and news for the Society.
Jason works closely with Emma, and is the Communications Lead, working with BSAS to develop internal and external communications strategies, identify partnerships and opportunities, and in develop the membership offering with the guidance and support of trustees.
Adept at drafting and tailoring copy to meet the needs of the end user and stakeholders, Content Writer Janine Danha supports the team by writing content for the BSAS website and its various social media channels.
Finance Director Laura Smith, manages the BSAS finances ensuring accountability and transparency, enabling BSAS to monitor expenditure, report to the membership with confidence and make judgements based on sound evidence.
Finance Assistant, Holly Daly, reporting to Laura, is responsible for the smooth running of the charity’s finances.
