Hilary Davies Announcement

13 Jan 2022

It is with great sadness that we share news of the passing of Hilary Davies on the 31st of December. Hilary worked closely with Tony Lawrence, as one of two Technical Editors on the Society’s journal – ‘Animal Production/Animal Science’, before becoming central editor in 1999. Hilary excelled in her roles as technical editor and central editor, and the Society is indebted to her for her work, which was always of the highest order. Alongside her invaluable contribution to the Society, Hilary was also a Natural Science graduate of Cambridge University, with a focus on geology, a subject that for many years she taught for the Open University to high acclaim. Hilary was also sometime President of the Liverpool Geological Society and taught part-time her beloved subject at Liverpool University.

On behalf of the Society, I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Hilary Davies.

Professor Michael Lee, BSAS President.
