Early bird offer: Registration open for BSAS 2019

Discounted tickets are now on sale for BSAS’s 75th anniversary conference in Edinburgh next spring.

Register now and members can get £55 off the fee to attend the society’s landmark event, making the price of a full conference ticket just £395.

Non-members can take advantage of a £50 discount, making the cost of attending the three-day event £520.

Titled ‘Fit for the Future, the 2019 conference promises to be a not-to-be-missed celebration of past, present and future developments being made in animal science and livestock production.

Held at the outstanding Edinburgh International Conference Centre, the event will look at the technology, research and innovation which is shaping animal science as it develops to meet the world’s challenges.

Featuring experts from around the world, it will cover subjects including animal behaviour and welfare, nutrition and feed efficiency.

Meanwhile specific sessions will include pigs, sheep and equine, as well as aquaculture, companion and zoo animals.

There will also be sessions covering antimicrobial resistance, joint sessions with WPSA on precision agriculture, as well as a tour of the new equine surgery unit at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.

Alongside technical sessions the event - held from 9-11 April - will feature a host of events to mark the society’s anniversary year, including a ceilidh and an evening reception at the Signet Library in the heart of the Scottish capital.

The final evening will see delegates gather for a special conference dinner at the city’s stunning Assembly Rooms - an historic venue who’s historic dates back to the 1700s.

The special discounted rate is available until 8 February 2019, after which ticket prices for members will increase to £450 for the full conference, while non-member fees will rise to £570.

Early bird one-day passes are priced at £220 for members and £310 for non members, with further discounts available for students and retired members.
