Call for member participation to boost BSAS Accreditation

The BSAS Accreditation Scheme for Animal Scientists and Technologists is evolving and we are seeking the assistance of our members to get involved and help us achieve our goal.

As an accredited Animal Scientist or Technologist, this demonstrates to the wider world a degree of professional competence, which can be interpreted as having a breadth of knowledge and experience above and beyond what is required for job roles.

The BSAS Membership, Accreditation and CPD Committee aims to increase awareness of the benefits and value of accreditation (to individuals, employers and the public), increase provision of accredited activities for CPD points, and by this, help to increase the scientific reputation of all accredited members, especially those in early-and mid-career.

The BSAS Membership, Accreditation and CPD Committee seek members - who primarily work in advisory or consultancy roles - to join the group. This will give the committee valuable insight into how the scheme could be accelerated in these areas.

If you are interested in joining the committee or have any questions, please email Kirsty Kliem (k.e.kliem@reading.ac.uk), Callum Harvey (charvey@agrimin.co.uk) or Maggie Mitchell (maggie.mitchell@bsas.org.uk) no later than Friday 21 June.
