Bull fertility conference deadline extended

The deadline for submissions to present at the world's leading international bull fertility conference has been extended.

Potential presenters now have until Wednesday 31 January to send in their one-page submissions for the event, which is being held in Westport in Ireland from 27-30 May 2018.

The three-day conference, Bull Fertility: Theory into Practice, will bring together experts from around the world as they discuss the developments in bull fertility, and the challenges which need to be overcome to help drive herd performance and profitability.

Specialists from academia, veterinary practice and industry will discuss topics ranging from male reproductive physiology, nutrition, puberty, and semen collection and processing, as well as issues including the way genomically-assisted selection has revolutionised the dairy industry, and ways to reliably predict the fertility of individual bulls in the laboratory.

Revolving around scientific sessions including workshops on semen evaluation, bull reproduction and a trouble-shooting forum, the conference will also include poster sessions and an exciting social programme.

Bruce Beveridge, BSAS chief executive, said: "This is going to be a great event, with invaluable practical sessions as well as fascinating presentations from international experts. If you're in the field, you can't afford to miss it."
