Dr. Trevor Alexander received his Ph.D. in Nutrition and Metabolism from the University of Alberta.

Trevor is currently a microbiologist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Lethbridge Research and Development Centre.

His research program focuses on beef physiology with an emphasis on bovine respiratory disease and environmental microbiology.

Ongoing projects include:

i) the development of antibiotic alternatives for mitigating bovine respiratory disease, including the development of bacterial therapeutics and novel vaccines

ii) epidemiology of veterinary and zoonotic pathogens in cattle

iii) characterization of the microbiota and antimicrobial resistance genes in agricultural systems.
