Volunteers sought for ANIMAL management board

BSAS is seeking to recruit a new member of the ANIMAL Management Board following the sad loss of Kevin Shingfield.

The society is looking for expressions of interest from members of the society with expertise and an enthusiasm for journals and publishing.

The new board member will join the BSAS chief executive and treasurer on the management board of ANIMAL to represent society and work with colleagues from partners EAAP and INRA.

INRA and EAAP each have three reps, and the management board is chaired by an independent individual, currently Nigel Scollan. Good communication skills and ability to work as a team player are therefore important.

The management board meets once a year and corresponds by email at other times. It is the body responsible for agreeing the on-going strategy of ANIMAL and accepting the annual accounts.

ANIMAL will pay travel and accommodation expenses associated with the role.

If you are interested please send an email in confidence to Mike Steele, BSAS chief executive, by 27 January 2017.

A short CV and statement will then be requested, with the aim of selecting the best candidate in time to join the next MB meeting in Paris on 7/8 March 2017.

If you would like an informal chat please contact Mike Steele who would be happy to talk to you.
