Membership of the Society is on an individual basis only.
 Application
The annual subscription runs from 1 January - 31 December each year.
Full member £65.00 sterling (£115.00 sterling for printed version of journal). In the UK the subscription is tax deductable.
Reduced subscription for post-graduate/retired members £32.50 sterling (£82.50 sterling for printed version of journal)
Undergraduates - free membership package
Members can opt for the on-line version of the journal only or the printed version of the journal which also includes access on-line.
Please remember to include your payment (if applicable), mini CV (approx 100 words) detailing your background and career. Please also provide referees contact details.

Activities
BSAS is an active society with topical meetings and workshops in the UK, Europe and overseas;

Organises a UK Annual Conference held each Spring where theatre and poster presentations attract 500 professionals worldwide;
Gives awards to honour scientists in animal welfare and animal science.
RSPCA/BSAS Award Award for Innovative Developments in Animal Welfare;
Sir John Hammond Memorial Prize.

The leading journal 'Animal' is published monthly on-line and in printed version.

Worldwide Information and Links
BSAS has -
strong networks with animal science organisations worldwide and with relevant UK societies including those in nutrition, grassland, ecology, engineering, fertility, biology, health development issues and welfare;
balanced independent scientific information. The Society is consulted by government and other organisations on animal science policy/issues;
an active European involvement through EAAP and worldwide contacts with experts, including those in developing countries.

Young People
BSAS is committed to encouraging students and young people from around the world to become involved in its activities. It has an active Student Council.
Undergraduates join FREE
Postgraduate members pay 50% subscription fee
Scholarships are offered to attend conferences, undertake study tours and short research projects. (Sir Kenneth Blaxter, Murray Black and Alan Robertson Awards)
BSAS helps young people undertake short summer placements with commercial companies and research institutes
Students qualify for reduced registration fee to BSAS Conferences
Free student workshops on writing, speaking, viva and technical skills
